If you’re like most promotional products sales professionals you’ll be taking some time off this summer and that’s a good thing. We all need down time to recharge our batteries and take a break from our work life.
Breaks can help you come back refreshed, energized and with new ideas. Personally, I love the New Jersey seashore and will be spending time there this summer.
Something I like to bring with me when I’m traveling, or on vacation, are some small and interesting self-promotions.
When someone asks what kind of work I do, I hand them a self-promo first. It’s a great way to start a conversation, share some promo success stories and find about the other person and most importantly show I believe in the products I market.
I’ve met future clients on airplanes, the beach, my fitness center and even waiting for a table at a restaurant. You never know where your next client or big order is going to come from.
Some of my favorite self-promos this time of year are flavored lip balm with SPF, sunscreen spray, microfiber cleaning cloths and a well designed pen with cool colors and an attractive imprint. What about you? Have you ever met future clients on a vacation or social situation? Did you have a self-promo to give them? I’d like to hear from you. Share your comments and stories in the block below.
One more thing, whether you’re going on a vacation or staycation, enjoy the July 4th holiday week, stay safe and have fun!
great tip
Thanks Kathleen. Glad I could be of help.
Do this all the time. Have gained new customers on trips we’ve been on. Great and easy way to do it!!
Walter,
Glad you’re doing this smart strategy! Keep up the good work!
Great content! Summer promos are my favorite (I’m only a little bias). Beach towels are another great item to add to the list. 🙂
Niki, Thanks for the comment. I agree!
