In keeping with this theme, below are my 5 Easy Tips for Getting Better Results at Promotional Products Industry Trade Shows:
1. Contact your current top customers and prospects. Tell them you’ll be attending an industry show where you’ll get to preview the newest promotional items. Mention that you would like you to bring back ideas or samples to help them better promote their products or services. This is a smart way to keep in touch, see what’s going on and get a jump-start on sales for the new year.
2. Meet with your top, favorite suppliers first. If possible, set up an appointment. Map out their locations before the show. Tell your suppliers the types of customers you’ll be focusing on and ask for new ideas and samples.
3. Carry a hand-held recorder, digital camera or small notebook to capture any cool new ideas or items. This will help you remember your favorite new ideas when you’re back at the office. File ideas for each customer in their customer folder.
4. Wear comfortable shoes and pace yourself so that you don’t get overwhelmed.
5. Follow up fast when you return from the show. Set up meetings and go over ideas with your top customers and prospects. Focus on solving their challenges and increasing their sales using an effective, targeted promotional item.
